Canyonlands National Park

This is a vast, wide-open, deserty National Park.  It is beautiful and basic.  After a while, all the viewpoints start to look the same - but, still beautiful and unique in their own way.  I took a short hike (about 1/2 mile) to a gorgeous arch (Mesa Arch) that overlooks the canyon.  It's like looking out a window and seeing this majestic canyon below.  I love this place, despite the fact that it was REALLY hot!

This is called Shafer Trail Road.  How anybody drives it and lives to tell about it is beyond me.  It is a very, very long drive (takes a couple days because you can only go about 1 mile an hour) and goes along the rim of the canyon.  There are places so small that 2 cars can't pass each other.  NO thank you!

This is a very short hike to see Mesa Arch - it's probably the most famous place in this national park.  It is a beautiful arch overlooking the canyonlands.  Beautiful.

 That is MESA ARCH

Look through it and you see the canyon below - SO pretty!

As I was leaving the park, I was EXTREMELY LUCKY to see a magnificent Golden Eagle!

HOT HOT HOT!  (This place, not me!)

Pretty flowers!

Kerm and the Red Cat like the view!
