Legal Weed. Village Green Society - Cannamart

Growing up in the 60s and 70s, I never, ever thought I would see the day when they legalized marijuana.   Cannabis is now legal for recreational use in both Washington and Colorado (a few other states for medicinal).  In Colorado, you walk in a pot store, point at what you want, pay for it (including the huge 22% tax) and walk out with your pot; loose, rolled, drink or edible.  The law requires that it is encased in a child-proof container.  Colorado has collected a HUGE amount of tax on the marijuana since it became legal in January, 2014.  The tax goes for things such as education and the National Parks System (win/win).

Around the Denver area, there are a lot of weed stores.  Some still just sell the medical marijuana, but a lot sell recreational.  You HAVE to be 21 to even go inside the store.  They take your driver license and run it before they even ring you in.

To me, this is progress, pure and simple.  For people with medical conditions that marijuana can help, it should most definitely be legal (that's just my opinion - which means nothing).  Even for recreation, I agree with the legalization.  Why does any state want a bunch of stoners in jail?  Here in Colorado, the weed you buy is pretty-much for home use.  You can’t smoke it in the street walking around, or in your car, or any other public area (just like the restrictions on cigarettes).  There is responsibility in everything and you have to accept that responsibility.

This store was in Boulder, Village Green Society. They sold everything and the guy was really nice and very knowledgeable about the law.  I still can’t believe you can walk in a store and buy weed!!

You have to check in here, give your driver license (MUST be 21), then you are buzzed into the store.

21+ - NO EXCEPTIONS.

You buy the amount you want - even a single, already-rolled joint.

Edibles.

 Yes, girl scout cookie weed!?!?
